My name is Patricia Davis. I am certified in the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Artless Art of Getting To Know (Help) Myself. Jin Shin Jyutsu is the ancient art of harmonizing the complete man--mind, body and spirit. An effortless form of meditation.
My interest in The Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu began in 1989 when I received my first sessions. At that time I was a Flight Attendant for America West Airlines, and was interested in any healing art that would help me cope with the pressures and stress of my job. I was inspired by my practitioner to begin Self Help study. Since Jin Shin Jyutsu is an art based on helping yourself, I was very interested. I purchased and studied the three Self Help books. I began to realize that through Jin Shin Jyutsu, I could help myself relax and sleep in a strange time zone after a 14 hour day of flying. I used the art on myself as well as others. Usually I would pass on the Self Help movements, showing someone else how to stop worry, fear, anger, sadness, and trying to. Get Rid of Worry Fast by simply holding a thumb or finger. The Self Help part of the Art was so successful for me that I wanted to attend a seminar and move towards certification.
Circumstances being what they were in the airline business in the 1990's and beyond, it took me 14 years to attend my first seminar. I had my first training class February 2004 in Tempe, AZ at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I have continued my learning experience by attending four more seminars, in Honolulu and here on Kauai. Three of my teachers were part of the original three students Mary Burmeister chose, in 1978, to carry on the class work with her and continue after she retired. They are my mentors and advisors. My goal is to continue to attend classes and seminars in the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu and use the art to help others help themselves.
I am a full time resident in Princeville, HI and have lived here for 14 years. I commuted between Arizona and Hawaii between 1992, when I purchased my condo, and 2004. I am seeking exposure and to spread the word about Jin Shin Jyutsu. If you would like to learn more about the Art, I would like to show you a 37 minute video called Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Art of Living. To set up a time to view this beautifully produced video, a tribute to Mary Burmeister (the woman who brought the art form from Japan in the 1950's), please contact me.
